Learning on Country

Who is On Country Academy?

On Country Academy (OCA) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) dedicated to working with Aboriginal corporations to deliver training that equips community members with skills to continue the management and protection of their own land.

We believe that this is more than training, it’s about creating lasting opportunities and making an impact in indigenous communities.

Growing Skills with Community on Country

We work closely with Elders and are guided by their knowledge. Learning is hands-on and connected to Healthy Country projects to build practical skills.

Cultural Site Works

Support the protection, management and recording of cultural sites.

On Country Management

Strengthening cultural and environmental stewardship on Country.

Conservation and Ecosystem Work

Restoring natural areas and protecting biodiversity.

What is The Training Process?

Our certification process is straightforward. Each course equips learners with the skills needed for sustainable land management and environmental conservation.

Training

We offer hands-on training delivered in the classroom and On Country, combining practical experience with personalised support to help students prepare for their future careers.

Work Placement

Once training is complete, we continue to support students by providing access to industry networks. We assist students to prepare for and pursue roles that suit their skills and aspirations.

Support Into The Future

Following training, we continue to support students as they transition into the next stage. Including monitoring progress, engagement, and access to resources that support skill development and encourage long‑term career progression.
